The Algarves most western course is situated beside the road from Lagos to Sagres a mile inland from the coast. The course occupies steep terrain on the narrow valleys rising onto the inland plateau.
This is a course for those who enjoy a challenge and can manage the often strenuos fairways. The layout was designed by former Spanish amateur champion Pepe Gancedo and architect of the well-known Torrequebrada course near Málaga in Spain.
Started in 1987 and designed by Pepe Gaucedo this course enjoys the deserved reputation of being the Algarves mountain course. the 5670 par 72 occupies a series of steep valleys on an inland site near the village of Budens mid way between Lagos and Sagres in the Western Algarve.
Recent changes have improved over the sometimes mixed management that marked the early years of this course. If you are up to it, it is a demanding course which wins its devotees.
